Privacy Policy for the OVRWLM Chrome Extension
Last updated: 3 July 2025
The OVRWLM Chrome Extension (“we”, “our”, or “us”) helps users manage and organize their open browser tabs. This policy describes what data we collect and how it is used.
What We Collect
- Authentication Info: We receive a Firebase authentication token from the OVRWLM web app, which allows the extension to identify the user and sync data securely.
- Tab Metadata: We collect information about your open tabs (URLs, titles, and favicons) to help categorize and save them to your projects.
- Website Metadata: The extension may scrape visible content from the current tab to assist with automatic categorization.
How We Use This Data
- To associate tab activity with your OVRWLM account.
- To organize, group, and save tabs to projects in your account.
- To send tab metadata to our backend, where it is analyzed and categorized using AI.
Data Sharing
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
- Your data is only used to support the extension's core tab-management features.
- We use Firebase for secure storage and OpenAI (via our own backend) for content classification. No personal identifiers are shared with OpenAI.
Security and User Control
Your data is transmitted securely using HTTPS. You can remove your data at any time by logging out or uninstalling the extension.
Compliance
This extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy. We do not use your data for advertising, creditworthiness, or tracking.
